Onehunga soakholes

Onehunga soak holes are scoria filled pits with a central chamber to increase storage capacity to provide a space for sediments to settle out. The scoria filled chamber extends to the surface with a cast iron lid to allow access. Rainwater enters the main chamber through a concrete cesspit.
